Requirements:
- 1 to 2 mins monologue from the play
- 30 mins chorus audition with 4 or 5 other people. Page 30 of script from “voice, voice, voice … to … awed by you“.

- Oedipus: king of Thebes
- Priest: of Zeus
- Kreon: Oedipus’ brother-in-law
- Chorus: Citizens of Thebes and elders
- Leader(s): of the Chorus
- Teiresias: prophet, servant to Apollo
- Jocasta: wife of Oedipus
- Messenger: from Corinth
- Shepherd: member of Laios’ household
- Servant: household slave of Oedipus.
Priest, Chorus Leader(s), Messenger, Shepherd and Servant are not gender specific.
Season:
- 1-6 April 2026 (Easter week and long weekend), Burbidge Amphitheatre, Australian National Botanic Gardens, Canberra
- 24-28 September 2026, Perth, Western Australia.
Greek Theatre Now will pay 50% of each person’s flight/accommodation for the Perth season.
Each cast/crew member will receive an honorarium of between $400 and $600.
Rehearsals: February and March 2026. Venue: Tooms Place, Lyons.
- Sundays 12.30 pm to 4.30 pm
- Monday 7 pm to 9.30 pm
- Wednesday 7 pm to 9.30 pm.
Please note: Dress rehearsal Tuesday 31 March and April 1 & 2 performances will be at 10.30 am (for schools and general public).
