“Finding and creating sustainable solutions in the ever-colliding worlds of fashion, textiles and art is something I have always been interested in. Proudly, I share this passion as a Perth Fashion Designer, Costume Designer and Wearable Artist for my brand, Madelyn Jane.
“In 2023, I set myself the challenge of creating a queen gown from coffee pods, collected from my family and friends. ‘Coffee Queen,’ has since become one of my most recognisable looks, touring as part of the Australian Wearable Art Festival’s exhibition collection, ‘A Wearable Canvas.’
“Last year, my piece, ‘Like a Swan,’ took out second place in the Avante Garde category of the competition, gliding across the runway, stunning audiences, my most dramatic look to date.
“The future of Madelyn Jane sits in the space between Fashion and Art, a fusion of my love for both worlds, creating custom bridal, evening wear and wearable art looks for those wanting to bring my art to life.
“I’m inspired by nature, movement and the human form, to create looks that connect with audiences and transport them to other worlds or engage with their own personal experiences.
“Through my costume work and wearable art, I feel fortunate to work alongside so many amazing creative people. From production crews, directors, to solo performers and emerging designers, its a joy to be able to express my creativity and connect with others through wearable forms.”
